No entanto a tecnologia não tem de estar escondida dentro de um objecto “tecnológico” ou “futurista”, pode bem ser numa velhinha mesa de cabeceira. Segundo John Kestner, “Tableau é uma experiência anti-computador. A mesa de cabeceira transforma-se num interface natural para uma tarefa computacional complexa”.

A mesa de cabeceira foi transformada numa impressora multifunções (printer+scanner) em que basta colocar um papel e fechar a gaveta para automaticamente ser scanada e enviada via twitter para os familiares. Ao haver uma resposta, a imagem será impressa e acender-se-á uma luz na gaveta da mesa de cabeceira para assinalar “que se tem correspondência”.

Estas invenções fazem-me sonhar … espero que a vocês também.

The constant communication is the motif for some innovative gadgets along the times: telephone, bipper, cellphone, smartphone.

However, technology doesn’t need to be closed inside some “technological” or futuristic gadget, it can perfectly be your bedside table. John Kestner states that ”Tableau is an anti-computer experience. The nightstand drawer becomes a natural interface to a complex computing task”.

To the nightstand was coupled a multifunction printer (printer+scanner) and when you keep a paper inside, closing the drawer will trigger the scanner ON and tweet it to your family. If you have any feedback from them, printer will print their message and the drawer will be lighted stating that “you got mail”.

This sort of stuff makes me wonder … what about you?
